Hello friends! We moved into our home about a month ago, and are still trying to get settled, but I can say it finally feels like home. Now we are into the fun part, all of the finishing touches that make it feel like ours.
If you remember from previous posts, we painted the whole house ourselves, exterior and interior. It was a ton of work, more than I think we both anticipated. Honestly though, now that we are in and it’s done, I’m actually really happy we did it. It saved a ton of money, like $30,000. It’s a reassuring feeling you get once you have completed a huge task. We still have some touch ups to do, but those details have been put on hold for a little while. Our pantry door was one of the first thingswe did when we moved in. The other doors were sprayed white but I knew that I wanted some color on our pantry door.
When I was scouring the internet for interior decorating ideas, I came across this photo from Home Bunch.
I LOVE that the island and the pantry door color coordinated and wanted to do the same with our home.
Here is a picture of our island…
The color of the island is called Maritime by Diamond Cabinets. I know a lot of the diamond collection of cabinets are Sherwin-Williams paint colors, but this one I had to have custom matched.

Our pantry door before….
The door during the process.
This was one of the most frustrating painting projects I have done. The glass had a protective film on it that had specks of primer all over, so if I touched it in the slightest with my roller, the specks of primer got on the paint and onto the door. It took a lot longer than expected, not to mention the sanding I had to do.
My pantry door is done and I have really loved the pop of color that it brings to the kitchen. I also achieved my goal of coordinating the door and the island. It’s a serious high when a project is complete!
Love any of this color? Order a sample here and have it delivered right to your door.
I know that this week is crunch time for Christmas preparations. I am off to do some errands to get some last minute gifts wrapped up. I will be back on Friday with more Christmas decor inspiration and paint colors from Instagram. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
