Progress This Week 11.21.14

November 21, 2014 by Kristin Williams Leave a Comment

Happy Friday … again! Where did this week go?! Between sick kids, doctors appointments and LIFE – here is our progress.

1. My husband finished texturing all of the ceilings. I can’t tell you what a difference it has made in each room. Our home feels brighter and more spacious, not to mention much more appealing to the eye.

I will post a before and after next week!

Right now we are painting the ceilings using Eminence by Sherwin-Williams, and I have been super happy about the coverage and quality. For the most part we have been able to cover everything in one coat. Yay! I didn’t have it tinted, I’m just using the color that’s in the can (Bright White) and as I said earlier, it has lightened and brightened everything up in our home. I love it and would highly recommend it.

 2. I spent most of my time in the kitchen again filling in the holes to the cabinets, sanding the wood filler and taking down awful wallpaper that was seriously super-glued on.

I started off using a steamer on this main wall…

And after 3+ hours, this was how far I got. It was pretty frustrating, so I tried fabric softener and warm water mixed together, sprayed it on the walls, let it sit for a few minutes and then used the steamer again. That worked soo much better and I was able to get the rest off in a little over an hour.

kitchen progress

Just for fun, here’s a picture of our beautiful kitchen. Have I told you how glad I am that we don’t have to live in this right now?! I need to do some serious cleaning so I can start priming the cabinets. Man it’s been a slow process, but I’m hoping to be done with the kitchen before Christmas?? Let’s hope!

3. We also picked out our flooring, appliances and paint colors for our playroom. Have you seen the 2015 Color Forecast from Sherwin-Williams? I am picking up their color of their year, Coral Reef, along with some other colors from their 2015 line from my store today and I can’t wait to try it out in our playroom. It’s such a fun, happy color.

That is it for this week! Do you have any major projects you are trying to get done this weekend before Thanksgiving, or maybe for Christmas? If you do I wish you the best of luck! More paint colors and hopefully more progress next week. Have a great Friday!
